About The Author
Anita was born in 1942 at the stately home of Brockett Hall outside London which became a maternity unit during the war years. Her four grandparents were Jewish refugees from Eastern Europe who all settled in England at the turn of the century before the First World War. Anita left school at fifteen years old after a normal basic education and a very difficult childhood. She was always an optimist living in her own private dream world as her artistic talents were not encouraged.
This book tells the story of Anita who wanted to write to help others gain positive confidence and strength in adverse circumstances. Working in her first unskilled job
after leaving school, she realised that she could only survive if she used some creative outlet in her spare time. Having certain learning difficulties meant that she had to invent her own original skills and overcome her feelings of guilt due to a lonely unhappy childhood and lack of confidence. She went on to play guitar and write songs, dance in cabaret, create and sew exotic stage costumes and more. Despite big opportunities which were often presented and also finding publicity fell into her lap she was still afraid to take on that showbiz lifestyle In the background were some personal tragedies playing out that were very hard to deal with and overcome.
